The Friends of Silver Falls State Park was established in 1986 to form a group dedicated to enhancing the educational and interpretive experience of the park's visitors. The main source of revenue for the Friends is the Nature Store located in the Historic Log Cabin on the way to the South Falls viewpoint and trail head. The store is staffed by volunteers who enjoy meeting the visitors who come to the park from all over the world.
